Wait What? How can that even be possible, eating chicken without killing it? Well now it is possible, to understand how this is possible let us first understand what lab grown meats really are.

Singapore has become the first country in the world to approve sales of Lab-grown meat after the national food agency confirmed that it’s safe for consumption. Lab grown meat also known as Cultured Meat is produced by vitro cell culture of animal cells, instead of slaughtering any animals in a cruel manner, their meat can be grown in a lab, you heard that right, “Grown Meat”. A single cell is taken from an animal and grown into millions of pounds of meat. It is a form of cellular agriculture.

Some may ask, why this is needed? It is very clear that the demand for meat is higher due to the increase in the population around the world we need billions of pounds of meat every day and to meet this demand it is not possible or natural to go on killing animals and make them extinct. So, the concept of Lab grown meat comes up, where we can consume meat without killing any animals. It’s proven safer and healthier. Right now, this type of meat is very expensive and only available in Singapore. 

How is it made? They take one single cell from a healthy chicken, that cell is grown in a lab, it is fed by corn and soy, put it in a container and in 2 week what we get is minced meat, that exactly like meat found in the super stores or local market. It’s free from anti-biotics, free from animal cruelty, it’s good for the environment and good for your health. Unlike the farm bread chicken or any other meat that are filler this antibiotics and toxicity which ever affect us and our health.

Josh Tetrick, the CEO of ‘Eat Just’ who is manufacturing this Lab meats said that culture chicken bites would be manufactured in Singapore and he expects the product to be served to consumers in a restaurant setting soon. According to him in the beginning, such meat would probably cost as much as premium chicken, but the price would fall as production is increased. In the next 5 to 10 years, this type of meat would be made available all over the world that would eliminate killing or slaughtering of animals and would be replaced by science to create an exact replica or even a better version of the meat we consume. We would be living it a better world as we would never have to kill to eat and billions of people would be feed, which should eliminate animal cruelty around the world and make this world a better place for all living organisms.
